During this inter-cluster event in hotel Balkan in Belgrade, on April 19, 2011, the companies from three clusters of advanced technologies – Vojvodina ICT Cluster, ICT NET, and newly founded NI CAT, will have the opportunity to learn about each other and start cooperation.
At the same time, the clusters from other industries will also be present at the event – Auto Klaster Kragujevac, AC Srbija, Central and South Serbia Cluster of Wood Processors and Furniture Manufacturers, and FACTS apparel cluster. These associations will present analysis of their members’ needs for ICT products and solutions, which will be discussed with ICT clusters.
After successful porting of Google””s Android Operating System to SupraHD® and SupraXD® processor platforms for DTV and set-top box products, RT-RK Computer Based Systems and Zoran Corporation from Sunnyvale (California, USA) signed an Agreement on developing additional applications for DTV and STB products.

Nikola Teslic, Deputy General Manager at RT-RK, said that applications developed by their engineers for Zoran-based Connected TV and Set-Top Box devices offer consumers an easy-to-access information experience providing all personal services they may need: e-mail, news, weather reports, sports videos, travel recommendations, video games, movies and social networking services.
This partnership aims to deliver high performance, competitive products on a timely basis reducing time-to-market and system costs.

Two workshops were held for the cluster members at the premises of Vojvodina ICT Cluster, March 9, 2011.
Presentation titiled EU Funds – Purpose, Structure, Availability – 2007 – 2013 was held by Mr. Dejan Zvekic, Executive Manager of the Subotica Open University, and it covered a comprehensive review of all available sources of EU funding, including possibilities of calls for proposals pertaining to information and communication technologies.

Ms. Jasna Kamatovic, Head of Corporative eCommunication, in charge for Internet business application with the company Positive, gave presentation SEO – Experiences and Methodologies, which dealt with improvement of members’ activities regarding Vojvodina ICT Cluster website. Attendees were able to hear about basic techniques of Search Engine Optimization (SEO), technical details, but also about how to get more from social networks.
It is a great pleasure to inform all our colleagues and business partners that the Ministry of Science and Technological Development of the Republic of Serbia accredited RT-RK Computer Based Systems LLC as a national research and development institute.

RT-RK, new building
After evaluation of all submitted evidence and checking the quality and efficiency of scientific research, Advisory Committee issued a positive decision on the accreditation of the RT-RK Computer Based Systems LLC proving that RT-RK meets all requirements for conducting scientific research of general interest.
This is a significant step in the company development and confirms its long-term strategy of further investment in research and development.

Just after few months since the establishment of this business organization, Vojvodina ICT Cluster will present cooperation potentials of its members in the field of information and communication technologies at the largest international event in the area of digital industry – CeBIT, which takes place March 1 – 5, in Hanover, Germany.
Vojvodina ICT Cluster has emerged from the need for a business association of this type, and currently has 28 companies with over 1,500 employees, and 6 institutions supporting its work. Its members have generated the highest profits on markets outside of Serbia within IT industry in Vojvodina.
Since its establishment, the Cluster has seen the some quick wins by creating useful contacts abroad, presenting its work to similar associations at the Business & IT Fair in Stuttgart in October last year, as well as at conferences in Romania and Hungary.
Vojvodina ICT Cluster’s visit to CeBIT this March will primarily focus on internationalization and generation of new business opportunities for its members, boosting export and getting Serbian ICT sector into the spotlight.

Vojvodina ICT Cluster strategic document describes activities and areas of focus in the coming period and serves as the basis for compilation of annual action plans of the Association.
By publishing this document, the Cluster aims to maintain transparency of its work and inform partners and the public about strategic goals and planned activities. Opening address will be given by Mr. Istvan Pasztor, Vice President of Vojvodina Government and provincial Secretary of Economy, Mr. Vojin Senk, President of the Cluster Assembly and Mr. Milan Solaja, CEO at Vojvodina ICT Cluster.
This will also be an opportunity for public signing of accession contracts with the latest members of Vojvodina ICT Cluster, as well as presentation of the study ‘ICT in Serbia – At a Glance’ which is the result of joint efforts of Vojvodina ICT Cluster and German GIZ (formerly GTZ).
According to Infostud, the largest Serbian agency dealing with employment, studying and HR, the best employer in the category of small and middle sized enterprises in Serbia is HintTech, which participated for the first time in the research. Besides winning the best employer title in category of SMEs, employees in this company think their employer provides them with the best working conditions. The second place in category “the best employer” and the title of employer with the best development possibilities within SMEs were won for second year in a row by Microsoft Serbia, one of nine world’s Microsoft’s R&D centers. Company Hahn+Kolb has confirmed it still takes care of its employees by winning the third place among middle sized and small companies, again for the second time in a row, but also the award for the best interpersonal relations.
